Episode One

--On their way to school, we first see the "Prince Yuuki Fan Club" (PYFC). They do this cheesy dance routine expressing their love for Yuuki. At school, the PYFC approach Tohru and demand to know what she was doing walking with Yuuki. As they're harrassing Tohru, Uotani Arisa aka Uo-chan (Tohru's best friend) and Hanajima Sake aka Hana-chan (her other best friend) arrive and scare the PYFC away. Arisa's what they call a *yankee* which is like a gang member type and Hanajima has these weird *harmful vibes* that can harm the person(s) they're directed to. In the next scene, the three friends are sitting in a cooking class (probably home ec.) and Tohru talks about her run-in with Yuuki that morning, Hana-chan says she gets weird vibes from him, and Uo-chan tells a story of a girl who tried to hug Yuuki before, but he pushed her away and ran off. Apparently, her friends aren't aware that Tohru is living alone in a tent. Tohru didn't want to worry them, so she said that she was living with her grandfather. During their conversation, you already see how close the three of them are and how important Tohru is to the other two girls.

--There's a flashback to the past as Tohru explains why she's living in a tent. After her mother's accident and death, her family tried to figure out where she should stay. They decided she should stay with her grandfather, which was fine at first. But then, her grandfather moved in with his daughter/son-in-law who was currently remodeling their home, so they didn't really have space for Tohru. Her grandfather asked if it was okay that she stay with some friends until the remodeling was finished. Tohru, not wanting him to worry, said she had a place to stay. The problem was she didn't really have anywhere to stay because she didn't want to burden her friends. So therefore, she decided to live in the tent, in the forest, alone. =/

--At the end of the day, she runs into Yuuki at the lockers and they walk home together. Yuuki questions Tohru's liking of the cat and then says that cat's are fools and have a bad nature. He then goes on about how the zodiac were originally used for telling time, and only later were they used for divination/fortune telling. He's not sure when the animals became associated with the zodiac, but he doesn't fail to mention that the cat was never a part of the zodiac. Tohru asks Yuuki if he hates cats and he changes the subject.

--Tohru is now at her part time job, vowing to work as hard as possible to make her mother proud. It then cuts to a scene of Yuuki and Shigure walking home from eating dinner out and they talk about hiring a housekeeper to cook/clean, but Yuuki says that having a woman around would be troublesome. As they continue to walk, they see Tohru walking into her tent. When she walks out to wash her face, Yuuki and Shigure are standing there wide-eyed. So what does Shigure do? He points at her and laughs. (lol i thought it was funny) They're back at the Sohma house sitting around a table and Shigure is still laughing. Tohru's face is red from embarrassment and asks if she can continue to live in the forest, which is all Sohma property. Tohru then passes out because it seems she's got a fever. A dog is heard howling and Shigure says there's been a landslide. Tohru worries that her tent was involved, so they all head out there to find the tent covered in mud. Frantic, Tohru starts digging because she needs to find that picture of her mother. Since she's still got a fever, Shigure suggests going back to the tent in the morning to gather her belongings.

--Afterwards, Tohru is laying down on a futon while Shigure watches over her and as she's drifting off to sleep, she starts to reminisce and talk about her mother and how she didn't get to properly say good-bye the day her mother's accident occurred. Then she talks about how she wanted to drop out of school and just work instead, but she remembered that her mother only graduated from middle school. So her mother told her once that since she didn't get to be a high school student, Tohru would be one in her place. So Tohru wants to graduate from high school to honor her mother's wishes. After falling asleep, Yuuki tells Shigure how he always thought Tohru was just cheerful and never seemed to have gone through a *hard* life. Yuuki, who thinks his life has been difficult, realizes that he's had it easier than her. Yuuki leaves Shigure to watch over Tohru as he goes out to get Tohru's things at the tent. The scene ends with Yuuki disappearing into a sea of rats. (cringes)

--The following morning, Tohru wakes up and sees the picture of her mother next to her. Surprised, she jumps up and Yuuki is standing there, holding two bags that contain all of Tohru's belongings. As Yuuki's standing there, he says that the house is dirty and only two guys live there, but on the second floor, there's an extra room and that until the remodeling of her aunt's house is complete, Tohru is more than welcome to stay there. Tohru objects, but Shigure, who pops out of nowhere, asks if she likes to cook and clean. When she says yes, he welcomes her to the Sohma house with a big cheesy chibi grin. As Yuuki and Shigure bring her things to the room, Shigure asks if its okay that a girl is living with them, and Yuuki replies that it's okay as long as they don't get hugged. As they walk past a tree, we see another boy standing there (Sohma Kyou) *my favorite* ^_^ In the room, Tohru hears some noises coming from up above. Seconds later, Kyou bursts through the ceiling and picks a fight with Yuuki, his sworn enemy. Just as Kyou's about to attack Yuuki, Tohru tries to stop him, but trips and accidentally hugs Kyou from behind. *gasps* There is a sudden *poof* and Tohru picks up...a CAT. She's all wired and frantic because he turned into a cat, and so as she's standing up, a piece of wood from up above falls on her and she falls on Yuuki and Shigure, who then turn into animals too. Yuuki turns into this cute lil rat and Shigure turns into a dog. She looks like she's about to faint...and the episode ends.
